Tom & Jess | Oxford University
All of the following photos were taken (and edited) by me, whilst second shooting for Helen Cawte Photography.
Oh I love Oxford! It's such an old city and the architecture is just stunning, particularly in the University Colleges. Tom and Jess got married in the chapel at Exeter College and had their drinks reception in a marquee, followed by dinner in the great hall (which looked like it was a part of Hogwarts!) I photographed Tom and his ushers getting ready in one of the bedrooms at the college (which had belonged to one of his ushers many years ago!) The service was just beautiful, I loved that the pews faced inwards, it gave such different perspective than most churches. The bride looked beautiful, and so thrilled to be marrying Tom - she kept turning around and beaming at her family.
Their drinks reception was awesome - mainly due to a mini golf course set up in the marquee! What a great idea! All the guests loved it, from the teenagers to the grandparents. It got everyone involved and chatting: I'm now recommending it to my future couples! When we went into the great hall for the speeches and wedding breakfast, I was blown away with how beautiful it looked - the old paintings, candelabras, flowers, long tables and dark panelling gave an incredible atmosphere. After some wonderful speeches they had their dinner, followed by a bouquet toss and the dancing. It was a long but brilliant day, I hope Tom and Jess enjoyed themselves. Thank you for asking me to shoot with you, Helen!
