What is your photographic style?
I love natural light and avoid using my flash wherever possible. I usually only use it for the speeches and dancing (except on dark winter days, where I might have to use it more!) Apart from some photos of the two of you, and group photos with your family (if you'd like some), most of my photos on the day will be documentary style: photographing the day as it happens.
Can we meet you before our wedding?
Yes! Either at your engagement shoot or if you’d like to meet up for a chat before your wedding - I'm happy to go to a café/pub near Guildford, but if you live further away it’s probably easier if we have a Zoom chat or phone call.
How do I book you?
Please head to my contact page and fill in my form, giving me as much info as possible - I'll need to check whether I'm free on your wedding date, then I'll email you back ASAP. We can have a Zoom chat if you'd like to, and if you want to book me then I'll invoice you for the booking fee (which will be subtracted off your second payment) and send over my contract for you both to sign.
When do we pay you?
When booking me, I’ll send over my contract for you to read and invoice you for the booking fee: £500 if booking The Classic package and if booking shorter coverage (The Unique package) the booking fee is £300. Booking fees are subtracted from your total cost. The final balance is due 6 weeks before your wedding.
Why would I want a second/additional photographer?
You will have more angles of the day photographed, meaning more photos. I will choose a photographer that I trust to work well alongside me all day. As the main photographer I spend around 1.5-2 hours before the ceremony with the bride and bridesmaids, whereas the second shooter will photograph the groom and ushers, and the guests arriving at your ceremony venue. I will be at the front of the ceremony, photographing the two of you, and the second shooter will photograph from the back of the room (hopefully they'll be able to catch a photo of the groom's reaction when he sees his beautiful bride!) For the rest of the day, the two of us will photograph your wedding reception from all angles. They'll be able to catch more photos of the guests whilst I'm photographing the couple, and doing group photos. If you don't want a second photographer, then that’s totally fine - I am very happy to photograph your wedding on my own!
What's the point of an engagement shoot?
They are SO much fun: it's a good opportunity for you to tell me all about your wedding day plans, we can get to know each other better, but more importantly you can practise relaxing in front of the camera together before the big day! This will result in some great photos of the pair of you in a forest, on a hillside, a beach...or wherever you fancy!
Can we do an engagement shoot wherever we like?
Yes - within reason! I'm happy to travel up to 10 miles from GU1. I grew up in the beautiful Surrey countryside so I have a long list of places I can recommend for a photoshoot. If you'd like to go somewhere further than this, I will charge 45p/mile for the extra petrol & time.
How long do you photograph for at a wedding?
It depends on your budget. My wedding packages range from 2-10 hours. If you’d like me to start before 9am or finish after 10pm I will charge extra if it means I need to book accommodation nearby.
Do we need to feed you?
Yes please! It's a long, busy day for you - and for me too! I would really appreciate a break to have a meal in another room whilst you're having your wedding breakfast. If you can't provide this, please let me know before the day and I will bring a picnic along.
What happens if you're ill on our wedding day?
I am in several networks with many lovely photographers, I would be sure to get someone I trust to cover for me as soon as possible. It wouldn’t cost you anything as I’d pay them from my own pocket. But don't worry, I am rarely ill!
Are you insured?
Yes - I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
When will we receive our wedding photos?
You'll receive them within 8 weeks of your wedding; it may be quicker in quieter periods.
Why does it take so long for the photos to be edited?
I have to download the photos, cull them, crop them, check the exposure, white balance, improve the colours and many other magical things before exporting them... When you multiply this by 500 (or more) photos you can see why it might take a while - especially during the busy summer season when I’m photographing many weddings!
How long will I be able to access my online gallery for?
Your photos will be in the gallery for a minimum of one year after your wedding date. Please also make sure that you back up your photos on a hard drive or online! They are your responsibility once I’ve sent you the link to your gallery.
Can I print my own photos?
Of course! I would recommend using a high quality lab, so that the photos look their very best! Or you can buy your prints through your gallery, there’s a shop attached to it.
Do you sell albums?
Yes - there’s a shop attached to the online gallery where you can order albums and prints.
Please contact me if you have any other questions!
